Parent Preparation Seminar 1 (Pre-Adoption)*

This 5 1/2 hour seminar provides adopting parents with information about adoption and infant care: coping with the wait; setting up support for the baby’s arrival; relationships with birth parents; bonding and attachment; marital stress during the transition to parenthood; and preparing siblings for the baby.

Parent Preparation Seminar 2 (Post-Adoption)*

This 2 1/2 hour seminar focuses on the adjustment to parenthood and infant care. Information will be provided about parents’ adjustment; reactions from family, friends, and strangers (especially in transracial adoptions); the importance of developing a support system; attachment issues; childcare issues; and childproofing the home.
