International Adoption Program China

Adoptions Together has been completing adoptions
from China since 1993 and is accredited by the China
Center of Adoption Affairs. We were approved to do
Special Needs Adoptions in 2005.
The Children in Need of Adoption
Infant girls are available for adoption.
On rare occasions, infant boys and twin infants are available for adoption.
We also have an adoption program for older Chinese children with medically correctible special needs. Some of the older children we have placed were not abandoned as infants and have spent less time in the orphanage.
Due to the "one child policy" in China and a cultural preference to raise sons, many health female children must be abandoned by their families who cannot raise them. The babies are found and taken by the police to a nearby orphanage. The children are referred to a central adoption office in Beijing where they are matched with families from other countries who wish to adopt.
Given the time it takes for the paperwork to be processed, the referral made, and your travel date approved in China, the babies are usually between 8 to 11 months old at the time of travel. You may not adopt more than one child at one time, except for twins.
An upcoming Fall information meeting regarding the 2007 Homeland Tour is being planned. Please email Marcy Gitt at marcygitt@cox.net if you are interested and the details will be forwarded to you.
