HOW YOU CAN HELP

Children In Common can benefit from your support, ideas and energy in many ways. Financial donations are needed the most since it is easier for us to purchase needed items in-country than it is to find sources for transportation of the donations.

  We seek financial assistance for orphanage relief.

  We need donors for clothing, educational and medical supplies.

  We need sources of transportation to deliver this relief to orphanages where the number of children needing help continues to grow. 

Everyone knows someone who is able to donate supplies or make items for the orphanages. Consider places of employment, community or social groups, religious organizations. Most organizations will have one or two service projects each year. 

Committee members can also present information about the institutions and their need for supplies.

   IDEAS

While buying her son new shoes, a mother talked to the store manager about the need for shoes in orphanages. After he spoke with the district director, the store manager gave a box full of new shoes to the mom.

A family has supplied vitamins for their daughter's former baby home by asking for members of their church to donate the cost of vitamins per month for one child.

One friend asked for memorial funds collected to be used to purchase shoes for overseas.

A West coast mom knew a manager a Walmart who would notify her of drastic markdowns/clearance sales. One purchase was dozens of shoes and slippers at thirty and fifty cents a pair.

 Manufacturers have sent cases of vitamins.

A service project provided glasses to an entire orphanage. This enabled some children to learn to read.

burn ointment
antibiotic ointment

toothbrushes

new shoes

new underwear, size 12 months up

rattles, teething rings

jacks, matchbox cars, jump ropes, small balls

hairbands or barrettes

small cosmetics for the teens or caregivers
