Jennifer Kelman, Ph.D., Education and Training Manager
Since completing her graduate training, Jennifer Kelman has spent the past 14 years working in human services in an administrative and supervisory capacity. Immediately following graduate school, Dr. Kelman acted as the Director of Prevention Services for a community services board where she developed, implemented, and evaluated prevention programs and services for at risk youth and families residing in a seven county rural catchment area. As a faculty member in the Division of Community Outreach at
Virginia
Commonwealth
University
, she helped to establish and manage community based initiatives targeting inner city middle school students and their families, and also oversaw University service learning programs for undergraduate students. Prior to joining the Adoptions Together team, Dr. Kelman worked in adoption for seven years, first at the Director of Family Services and later as the Executive Director, for an international adoption agency. She has completed faculty certification for the
University
of
Phoenix
where she will be teaching on-line courses in psychology and lifespan development. Jennifer is the mother of two children who were adopted internationally.
